The satyam episode has brought to light many deficiences in the entire system. The fact that Rs.7000 crores of scam got through without the banks, auditors, regulators, etc having a clue about it is something which still grips my mind with confusion.
ReplyDeleteCrucial questions that still remains to be answered?
a)How come India's 4th largest exporter have an operating profit of 3%?
b)Were the funds really non-existent or were transferred to maytas to fund its land and infra projects which apparently were awarded by the state government?
c)How come independent bank reconciliation by the auditors did not uncover the truth? Or was the measure undertaken in the 1st place?
The fast these questions are answered, the better would be the credibility of those who are questioned today after the fiasco.
